Fruit Dip Salad

by Dawn on February 14, 2018February 20, 2019 in Dips/Snacks/Party Food, Sweets

This was actually supposed to be dip for fruit. I cut to the chase and just mixed it all together. You get more “dip” in every bite, because let’s be real – you’re going to eat the dip plain anyway because it tastes so freaking good.

Spareribs, Kraut & Dumplings

by My Mom on February 14, 2018August 8, 2026 in Main Dishes

I buy spareribs at Sam’s Club and then freeze them in proper portions. When I get a craving, I have them on hand. This is definitely comfort food for me.

Cheesy Mushroom Potatoes

by Dawn on February 14, 2018August 8, 2026 in Main Dishes, Side Dishes

I got this one in a Home Ec class in Jr. High. Great recipe that I still use on occasion.

Corn Fritters

by My Mom on February 14, 2018August 8, 2026 in Main Dishes, Side Dishes

I remember eating these in the living room and watching TV with my mom. Some places have corn nuggets, which are still tasty, but it’s just not the same as what my mom used to make. Plus, restaurants don’t serve them with syrup. They aren’t “in the know.”

Cornish Hens

by My Mom on February 13, 2018August 8, 2026 in Main Dishes

Cornish hens are individually wrapped and make a great meal when you’re home alone, or to cook for guests. They seem all fancy-like, but they turn a bit silly when you flap their little wings and make them “fly” at your children before they’ve been cooked. Also, people think you’re weird. Oh well.

Naked Chicken Cordon Bleu

by Dawn on February 13, 2018August 8, 2026 in Main Dishes

I don’t even remember why I didn’t bother with breading. maybe I didn’t have any, or more likely it was just easier. Either way, I think I like it better this way.

by Dawn on February 13, 2018August 22, 2026 in Main Dishes

Danica gave me this recipe, and it became a favorite.
