Anjanette
2-3 lb. Hamburger
1 pkg. Lasagna
1 can Hunts Chunky Vegetable spaghetti sauce
1 pkg. Cream Cheese
1 Onion
1 can Mushrooms
1-2 Cloves Garlic
24 slices Kraft American Cheese Slices
2 pkg. Shredded Cheese (Colby, Monterrey jack, cheddar, and mozzarella)
Brown hamburger and strain. Mix half with sauce and other half with cream cheese, onion, mushrooms, and garlic. Season both to taste with parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Prepare lasagna according to package directions. Using an 11″ x 15″ casserole dish, begin layering ingredients as follows:
-Thin layer of sauce to prevent sticking.
-Lasagna
-Thin layer of sauce
-Thin layer of cream cheese mixture
-American cheese slices
-Lasagna
-Sauce
-Cream cheese misxture
-Shredded cheese
Continue layering last 4 layers until just below rim of dish.
Top with a generous later of shredded cheese. Cover with foil and bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until cheese is golden brown.
Note: This was an eye-opening experience, as this was the very first lasagna that I ever liked, prepared by friend and co-worker Anjanette. (I used to hate both spaghetti and lasagna – I know, right?)
