1/2 C. Rice
1 lb. Hamburger
2 T. Onion Flakes
1/4 t. Pepper
1 1/2 t. Salt
1/4 t. Sage, Oregano, Thyme, & Ground Bay leaf
2 T. Fat (bacon or shortening)
Combine first 9 ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shape into 3/4 inch balls and brown in fat. Add sauce used for Swiss Steak (see separate recipe), or red sauce of choice. Cover and cook over low heat for approx 30 minutes, or until done.
