1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1 cup (1/2 pint) heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 pint strawberries
In a saucepan, over medium heat, add cream, water, and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Add basil leaves and reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 20 minutes or until the cream is thick and pale brown. Add the vanilla and mix well. Strain through a fine sieve into a clean saucepan. Keep warm until ready to serve.
