1/2 C. + 3 T. Sugar
1/4 t. Salt
1 t. Vanilla
2 Eggs, separated
4 C. Milk
Nutmeg
Beat half cup sugar into egg yolks, add salt and milk, cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture coats spoon and cool. Beat egg whites and gradually add 3 T. sugar until soft peaks form. Add to custard and thoroughly mix, chill and serve with nutmeg.
