Crock Pot Carmelized Onions

3 lb. Sweet Onions, sliced
Olive oil

Place onions in crock put. Drizzle oil over onions and mix until coated. Cook on low for 10 hours. Drain liquid. Continue cooking on low until desired flavor is reached (~4 more hours).

 

I really, really love carmelized onions. I will make them the normal way, which takes forever, and then eat them plain. These aren’t quite as good as that, but they are tasty. They are good on beer bread, or in makeshift on-the-fly french onion soup.
