My mom was a single mother, and she cooked. Although she hated stuff like “Hamburger Helper,” we did occasionally eat TV Dinners in their metal trays – which you had to cook in the oven once upon a time. But primarily, she cooked meals. Stuffed green peppers. Sauerkraut and spareribs. Meatloaf. And so much more. As a mom, I cook some of her recipes, find others, or create my own. Her recipes are under the author “My Mom” and are definitely worth checking out.
I didn’t meet my dad until I was in my twenties and, among many other things, discovered another cook! He cooks for family as well as his church, his biker group Christian Motorcyclists Association, and others. Some of my favorite recipes have come from my dad and his side of the family, and are under the author “Kreifels.”

I have recipe cards, magazines, print outs, you name it. Oh, and LOTS of cookbooks. It’s an addiction. Putting all of the recipes I frequently use, or just don’t want to forget, on my own website that I can control is the best way for me to cook. I always have my recipes when I need them, and can go to the store and quickly get the ingredients I need for dinner.
Adding in recipes from family and friends so they can share their own recipes is a great addition. I encourage the sharing of trusted recipes and enjoy showing them off. Especially when I love them myself.
Additionally, my job has food days every so often, and I make sure to grab the recipes I think are awesome. These can be found under the author STI.
Recipe Sharing
It’s so easy to find a recipe for just about anything on the internet. Many of the recipes on this site were taken from other sites, without credit. So, if you see something that’s yours and you don’t appreciate the fact that you didn’t get credit, just let me know. I’d be happy to give you credit for it.
